Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Erikh Hartman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Thomson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erikh Hartman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Josh Thomson! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hartman misses with a wild combination.
Thomson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Hartman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thomson circles away quickly and effectively. Hartman lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Thomson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Thomson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Hartman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Thomson defends it nicely. Hartman tries a head kick but it misses.
Hartman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hartman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Hartman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hartman tries to clinch up but Thomson circles away and keeps his distance. Thomson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hartman's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hartman being controlled here, momentarily. Hartman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hartman looking for a sweep. Not yet Hartman, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Thomson trying to control the position from guard on top but Hartman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hartman wants to stand up but Thomson is controlling him. Thomson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hartman misses with a body kick. Thomson tries to land a front kick but Hartman steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hartman misses with a takedown and Thomson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hartman thinking. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erikh Hartman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hartman lands a head shot. Hartman looks to land a combination but Thomson avoids it well. Thomson moves out of range as Hartman throws a body kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Thomson is looking to stand up but Hartman isn't so interested in that idea. Hartman pushing down on Thomson's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Thomson is refusing to be controlled, as Hartman sits in half guard. Hartman thows a body shot but no joy. Hartman misses with a takedown and Thomson counters with a left and a right that stings Hartman. Hartman has his takedown stuffed and Thomson counters with a big head kick but Hartman shrugs it off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hartman throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hartman throws a lazy head kick and Thomson counters with a leg kick. Thomson scores with a kick to the midsection.

Hartman misses with a takedown and Thomson counters with a series of strikes. Hartman will be more careful next time no doubt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Erikh Hartman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thomson just misses with a punch to the body.

Hartman tries to clinch up but Thomson circles away and keeps his distance. Hartman tries to close the distance and clinch but Thomson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hartman throws a lazy head kick and Thomson counters with a slapping leg kick. Thomson misses the jab. Thomson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hartman. Erikh Hartman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Nice body kick there by Thomson. Thomson takes a head kick and keeps coming.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Hartman on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomson controls the position. Thomson working away. Hartman is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Thomson asserts his dominance and retains side control. Thomson working the ground and pound but Hartman is defending the strikes. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Thomson throws a strike aimed at the side of Hartman's head but Hartman avoids it well.

Josh Thomson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Hartman throws a body kick the misses and Thomson counters with an inside leg kick. Erikh Hartman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab from Thomson misses. Hartman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Thomson, pushing him back against the cage. Hartman tries to circle away but Thomson has him pinned against the cage. Thomson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. No joy there for Hartman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thomson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hartman's sensitive parts. Hartman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomson.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hartman trying to control the position.
Thomson looking to sit in guard and control but Hartman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Josh Thomson has got the better of the ground game so far. Hartman trying to control but Thomson is working from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Some wild striking there from Hartman.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Josh Thomson. I think Thomson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
