Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Larry Fuller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Murple Pan! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pan swats away the attempt to clinch by Fuller. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Pan has eaten all the pies! Pan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Fuller tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Fuller tries to close the distance and clinch but Pan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fuller doesn't manage to clinch there - Pan circles away.
Fuller fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Pan, pushing him back against the cage. Pan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Fuller blocks it with crossed arms. Pan with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Fuller works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Pan preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Fuller is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fuller advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fuller lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fuller connects with a nice short shot to Pan's temple. Fuller is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Pan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fuller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Well, if Fuller is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Fuller frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Fuller has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pan's face.

Fuller has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Fuller is trying to trip Pan. He has hold of a leg but Pan is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Fuller persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Fuller trying to control but Pan is working from the bottom. Fuller stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Fuller tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pan swats him away and circles back towards the center. Fuller fails in his attempt to clinch. Pan throws his legs up looking for a submission but Fuller uses it to pass to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Fuller fending off the submission attempt from Pan. Fuller breaks Pan's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Fuller sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pan's guard. Fuller content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Larry Fuller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fuller looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Pan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Fuller seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Fuller is trying to control the action in half guard but Pan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Fuller frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Fuller controlling the pace for now. Murple Pan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The referee stands the fighters back up. Larry Fuller just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Fuller pushes Pan up against the cage in a clinch. Fuller has hold of one of Pan's legs. Pan is fighting the takedown attempt but Fuller gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Fuller sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. Larry Fuller is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Fuller tries for a kimura but Pan is defending well.
