PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Curtis Arnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and martins brian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Curtis Arnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, martins brian!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arnett throws a body kick that misses.

Arnett scores a takedown into full mount!
Arnett controlling the position easily from mount.
brian can't escape the position.

Arnett looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
brian is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Arnett controlling his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Arnett avoids the attempt from brian to control.
Arnett trying to control but brian is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arnett controlling from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
brian tries to lock up and control but Arnett gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Arnett lands with some strikes.
A nice elbow there by Arnett.
brian is trying to escape the mount.
Arnett wants to control the pace but brian is squirming around nicely.

Arnett controlling from the full mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Arnett looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Arnett content just to control the position here.
brian is looking to improve his position but Arnett isn't that keen on the idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
brian tries to lock up and control but Arnett gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
brian is desperately trying to improve his position but Arnett has a good base and remains in mount.
Arnett can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as brian is looking to escape.

Arnett trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Curtis Arnett dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


brian looks to score with a jab to the body but Arnett is just out of range.
Arnett throws a head kick that misses.

Arnett takes the fight into the clinch.
brian tries to circle away but Arnett has him pinned against the cage.
Arnett is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Arnett jumps guard.
brian is working Arnett over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Arnett keeping moving, preventing brian from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
brian has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Arnett is proving hard to escape from.

Arnett lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for brian!

You get the feeling that brian really doesn't like being in this position too much.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Arnett can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as brian is looking to escape.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Arnett cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Arnett wants to control the pace but brian is squirming around nicely.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Curtis Arnett just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Arnett ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
brian tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Arnett counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Arnett.
Arnett tries for a takedown. No joy.
Arnett is pushing brian up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
brian has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Arnett avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on brian's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Arnett pulls guard successfully.
Arnett is controlling brian's posture.

brian stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Arnett throws up his legs and catches brian in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! brian tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Arnett! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Curtis Arnett!
