Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Dux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, George Penn!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Penn is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dux sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dux wants to clinch.
Dux throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dux tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dux scores with a hook.
Frank Dux seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dux tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Penn paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Dux scores with a jab. Penn acknowledges it with a nod of the head.


It looks like George Penn has been cut.
Penn staying out of range there.
Dux lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Dux misses with a head kick.
A head kick misses from Dux.

Penn shoots in for a double leg but Dux sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dux lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Dux looks to land a combination but Penn avoids it well.
Dux misses with a few strikes there.
Dux tries to close the distance and clinch but Penn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dux circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dux throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Penn.
Dux wants to clinch up but Penn keeps it at a distance.

Dux is looking to clinch but Penn is avoiding it.

Dux looks to land a combination but Penn avoids it well.
Penn swats away the attempt to clinch by Dux.
Nice straight punches there by Dux. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dux.
Dux buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Dux scoring well with a low kick there.
Penn looks gassed!
Dux throws a series of punches but Penn moves out of range.
Dux goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Dux throws a sloppy head kick and Penn moves out of range easily.
Dux tries to clinch up but Penn circles away and keeps his distance.
Penn is trying desperately to land a takedown but Dux is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Penn.
Penn leaves Dux with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Dux looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
It looks like Dux is going to stand back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dux escapes and gets back to his feet.
Penn misses with a double jab
and Dux counters with a slapping leg kick.
Penn is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Dux.
Dux clinches but Penn breaks the clinch
and Penn counters with a three punch combo that has Dux backing up. Dux nods at Penn to acknowledge the strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A combination from Dux does no damage.
Dux throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Dux dominated that round.
The cut man is working on George Penn's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dux throws a right and a left that both miss.
A swing and a miss from Dux.
Dux swinging wildly here.
Dux stuffs the takedown attempt from Penn. Penn gets slowly back to his feet.
Dux misses with a double jab

so Penn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Penn is looking to work some ground and pound but Dux has wrist control.
Penn trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Dux is looking to stand up but Penn isn't so interested in that idea.
Dux might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Penn is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Penn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Penn trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Penn stops Dux from standing up.
Penn throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dux prevents a takedown attempt there.
Penn is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dux pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Frank Dux has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Penn.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Penn tries for a takedown. No joy.
Penn working hard to break the clinch.
Dux tries to break free but Penn pushes him back against the cage.
Penn makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dux tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Penn avoids it.
Dux pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Penn can't get the takedown.
Dux trying to control the position but instead, Penn has worked for underhooks and has pushed Dux into the cage.

Dux pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dux tries to clinch but Penn moves away

and Penn counters with a takedown into side control.
Dux wants to get back to his feet.

Dux throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Dux misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Dux closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Penn takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Dux closes the distance but Penn moves to the side
and Penn makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Dux jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dux swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Penn counters by clinching up.

Penn gets control of Dux's arms and successfully pulls guard. Penn will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Penn has a closed guard, preventing Dux from standing up.
Penn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dux is controlling him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Penn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dux gets to his feet - Penn follows without any prompting.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Penn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Dux tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Penn counters with a takedown into side control.
Penn looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Dux is avoiding damage well.
Penn creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dux sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Dux is trying to buck Penn off.
Penn throwing strikes but Dux manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Dux stands up.
Penn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Dux throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

A head kick from Dux lands but Penn takes it in his stride.
Dux pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dux tries to clinch up

and Penn counters with a takedown into side control.
Penn throws a strike aimed at the side of Dux's head but Dux avoids it well.
Dux is pushing Penn's head away, looking to escape. Penn manages to hold on to the position though.
Penn tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dux wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Dux counters with a series of strikes. Penn will be more careful next time no doubt.

Dux will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Penn shoots in and bounces Dux off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Dux pushes Penn off and scrambles back to his feet.
Dux misses with a series of wild punches.

Dux looks to clinch

and Penn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Penn.
Penn lands with a left to the head.
Penn is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Penn lands a left hand.
Penn has Dux pressed against the cage, preventing Dux from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Dux has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Penn has Dux pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dux manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Dux looking to throw knees to the head but Penn is blocking nicely.
Dux wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dux has had enough of the clinch but Penn keeps him there for the moment.
Dux tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Dux trying to control the position but instead, Penn has worked for underhooks and has pushed Dux into the cage.
Penn tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dux just stands there and leans against the cage.
Dux gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Penn.
Frank Dux has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Penn.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dux tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Penn's elbow.
Dux tries to circle away but Penn has him pinned against the cage.
Dux prevents the takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
George Penn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Penn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
