Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ares Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sub Zero will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ares Summers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sub Zero! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Summers fails with the takedown. Zero gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Summers advances position into side control! Zero is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Summers advances to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zero working to try and regain half guard.
Summers trying to control but Zero is having none of it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Zero is looking to get to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Summers with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Summers takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Zero tries to reverse the position but Summers maintains control. Summers controlling the position easily from mount. Zero keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Summers has hold of Zero's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Zero manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Summers stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Horrible takedown by Summers or perhaps it was just good defense by Zero which made him look bad. Zero gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Summers counters with a takedown into side control. Zero gets back to half guard. Zero regains full guard. Nicely done.

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Summers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Zero tries to land a sweep but no joy. Summers wants to control from the top but Zero keeps moving. Summers drops back looking for a leg! Zero is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Zero manages to kick Summers off! Summers jumps back into Zero's guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Zero misses with a takedown attempt and Summers counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ares Summers dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Zero drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Zero jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Zero is looking for a kimura but Summers is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Zero to get the leverage. Ares Summers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Summers gets full guard. Summers seems keen to control Zero's posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zero is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Summers is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Summers has escaped and now he's on top! Summers stands and throws Zero's legs to the side, diving into side control. Summers advances to mount. Summers looking to control and managing it successfully. Summers prevents Zero from getting the reversal. Summers tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Zero is squirming around, avoiding Summers's attempts to control the action. Summers jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Zero manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Summers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Summers is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zero is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Zero manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Zero is looking for a kimura but Summers is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Zero to get the leverage. Summers is trying to maintain the position but Zero is very close to passing his half guard. Zero is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Summers moves nicely into side control. Zero tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Summers presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Summers lands a nice shot to the head.
