Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shawn Larkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bruce Darnell!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larkin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Darnell throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Larkin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Darnell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Darnell throws a jab but it's blocked by Larkin.
Larkin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Darnell sizes up Larkin with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Larkin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Darnell jabs at Larkin's body.
Larkin is breathing heavily.
Darnell connects with a right hand. Larkin shakes it off.
Darnell connects with a crisp jab.

Darnell waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Larkin. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Larkin to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Darnell slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Darnell gets to his feet - Larkin follows without any prompting.

Darnell lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Darnell throws the left hand but Larkin avoids the punch easily.
Darnell misses with an uppercut.
Larkin slips a straight right by Darnell.
Darnell misses with a straight left.
Larkin throws a hook but Darnell blocks it.
Bruce Darnell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Darnell thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bruce Darnell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Larkin doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Decent striking displayed by Darnell there.
Larkin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Darnell.
Larkin ducks under a wild hook from Darnell.
Larkin avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nice takedown defense from Darnell. No joy for Larkin on that attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Darnell lands with a nice combination. Larkin backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Shawn Larkin has been cut.
Darnell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Darnell passes Larkin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Darnell perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Darnell throwing shots but Larkin is blocking nicely.
Darnell wants to take a breather but Larkin is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Darnell is thwarting Larkin's attempts to control the position.
Larkin tries to roll over but Darnell keeps him under control.
Larkin is staying active underneath Darnell, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Darnell thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Larkin to regain full guard.
Darnell throws and elbow that misses. Larkin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Darnell's guard. Nice move by Larkin!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Larkin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Darnell manages to avoid it.
Darnell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Larkin.
Darnell throws a big shot that misses.
Larkin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Darnell swivels and escapes.
Larkin fails to land the takedown.
Nice takedown defense from Darnell. No joy for Larkin on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shawn Larkin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Larkin looks to land a right hand but Darnell moved out of range.
Larkin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Darnell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Darnell missing with a left hand there. Larkin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Larkin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Darnell tries to bench press Larkin off him but Larkin keeps the position.
Darnell wants to control but Larkin postures up.
Darnell tries to improve position but can't.

Darnell gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Larkin is looking to take a break and control but Darnell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Larkin prevents Darnell from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Darnell controlling the position for now.
Larkin working Darnell over with strikes.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Larkin working the head and body with strikes.
Larkin trying to control from half guard but Darnell is working away.
Darnell is trying to control but can't.

Larkin is looking for a kimura but Darnell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Larkin to get the leverage.
Larkin is nestled in close to Darnell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Darnell regains full guard. Nicely done.

Larkin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Darnell is keeping the position for now.

Darnell looking for a triangle here. Larkin is fighting it but it looks tight! Darnell pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Larkin is tapping out - this one is all over!
