Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Delson Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ribeiro kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Racionais MC's - Expresso da Meia-Noite. Delson Ribeiro could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hank Hanson's chin.

7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hank Hanson! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hanson throws a series of punches but Ribeiro moves out of range. Ribeiro tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hanson swivels and escapes. Hanson tries to clinch but Ribeiro is having none of it. Hanson tries to clinch up. Hanson fails to land with a series of punches.
Ribeiro keeps the fight on the outside. Hanson throws a right hand that Ribeiro ducks under and follows up with a left that Ribeiro also avoids with ease. Hanson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ribeiro shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hanson defends it nicely. Ribeiro takes the fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hanson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ribeiro has him pressed against the ropes. Ribeiro goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hanson prevents it.

Hanson has had enough of the clinch but Ribeiro keeps him there for the moment. Hanson won't allow Ribeiro to sweep him here. Hanson wants to get up but he can't break Ribeiro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Ribeiro keeping moving, preventing Hanson from controlling successfully. The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hanson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Hanson looks to clinch and Ribeiro decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hanson's guard. Hanson looking to control.
Ribeiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ribeiro is breathing heavily. Hanson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ribeiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hanson lands a really nice looking cross but Ribeiro seems unphased.

Hanson is pressing down on Ribeiro's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hanson uses the ropes to get back to his feet.
Hanson clinches but Ribeiro breaks the clinch and Ribeiro counters by moving into the clinch. Ribeiro has Hanson pressed against the ropes, preventing Hanson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ribeiro has Hanson pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Hanson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Ribeiro manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Hanson wanted to stand there but Ribeiro had control of the position. Hanson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ribeiro swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ribeiro keeping moving, preventing Hanson from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Delson Ribeiro will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hanson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Hanson throws a leg kick but Ribeiro sees it coming and moves out of range. Delson Ribeiro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ribeiro shoots in and drives through. Hanson sprawls well. Hanson misses with a few strikes there.
Ribeiro takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hanson displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Hanson cracks Ribeiro with a good jab. Ribeiro checks the leg kick. Hanson throws a combination that misses and Ribeiro counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hanson's guard now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hanson is trying to control the position but Ribeiro postures up. Hanson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ribeiro is one step ahead there. Hanson keeping full guard, as Ribeiro tries to pass. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ribeiro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hanson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hanson working a defensive guard here.
Ribeiro keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hanson's head. Ribeiro pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hanson is keeping the position for now. Ribeiro is working hard here to advance position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hanson closes the distance looking to clinch and Ribeiro counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hanson won't be happy with that. You can see the frustration on Hanson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ribeiro connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hanson some visible discomfort.
Hanson is pushing Ribeiro's head away, looking to escape. Ribeiro manages to hold on to the position though. Hanson is not content to let Ribeiro control the position. Hanson tries to buck Ribeiro off but Ribeiro is having none of it. Ribeiro working away. Hanson is looking to regain half guard here but Ribeiro keeps moving and retains side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hanson throws a head kick but Ribeiro moves out of range.
A combination from Hanson does no damage. Hank Hanson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hanson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Hanson throws a right hand that Ribeiro ducks under and follows up with a left that Ribeiro also avoids with ease. Hanson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ribeiro.
Hank Hanson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ribeiro was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hanson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ribeiro throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Ribeiro is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hanson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hanson shrugs it off. Hanson tries to lock up and control but Ribeiro gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Hanson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ribeiro kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hanson wants to use the ropes to get back to his feet here.

Hanson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Hanson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hanson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hanson tries to clinch but Ribeiro moves away and Ribeiro moves into the clinch. Hanson is looking to break free of the clinch but Ribeiro has double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on Hanson's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hank Hanson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hanson is working Ribeiro over against the ropes.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Delson Ribeiro. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ribeiro, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
