Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mariusz Kosawudo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Tennant! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kosawudo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. The fight moves into the clinch position. Tennant connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like Mariusz Kosawudo has been cut. Kosawudo tries to break free but Tennant pushes him back against the ropes. With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Kosawudo just misses with a elbow thrown towards Tennant's brow. Tennant with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Tennant landing knees to the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks. Kosawudo jumps guard.
Kosawudo is trying to keep Tennant in close.
Tennant sitting in guard, not really doing much. Kosawudo looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Tennant puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kosawudo is looking to escape. Kosawudo tries to get to full guard but Tennant has control of the leg. Kosawudo is breathing heavily. Kosawudo is looking to escape. Tennant seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tennant in particular looking to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Tennant wants to pass the guard but Kosawudo is defending well. Kosawudo tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Tennant has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Tennant manages to capitalize on a mistake by Kosawudo to take his back!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kosawudo won't enjoy being in this position. Tennant looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Kosawudo is tapping - it's over boys! Tennant picks up the submission victory!
