Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruno Hainz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Meite! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Dean Styles and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hainz fails in his attempt to clinch. Meite shoots in but no luck this time. Hainz avoids a kick to the body.
Meite misses with a few strikes there.
Meite forces Hainz back against the cage and clinches. Hainz working hard to break the clinch. Meite utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Meite lands a nice knee to the body. Meite leaning against his opponent.
Meite can't get the takedown.
Meite throws a knee to the head but misses.

Hainz looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Meite lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Meite lands with a light punch inside. Meite slowing the pace effectively. Hainz prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bruno Hainz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Meite. Hainz has had enough of the clinch but Meite keeps him there for the moment. A bit of stalling here from Meite.

Meite will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Hainz up against the cage. Meite tries to pull guard but Hainz holds him up against the cage and eventually Meite drops back down to his feet.
Meite jumps guard but Hainz stands there with Meite around his waist. Meite gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bruno Hainz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Meite looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Hainz keeping moving, preventing Meite from controlling successfully. Meite in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hainz has a closed guard, preventing Meite from standing up. Hainz is working an open guard so Meite takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Meite tries to close the distance and clinch but Hainz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The fight stays on the outside here - Meite looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Meite closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hainz did well to prevent Meite getting side control. Meite looks gassed! Hainz avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Meite. Hainz tries to kick Meite off but Meite keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Meite wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hainz keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Meite dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hainz tries to clinch but fails miserably and Meite counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Meite. Meite using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Meite drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hainz pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hainz swats away the attempt to clinch by Meite. John Meite seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Meite moves in looking to clinch but Hainz pushes him off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hainz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Meite slowing the pace effectively. The crowd are getting on Meite's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. Meite pushes Hainz back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Hainz wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Meite comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Meite lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Meite breaks the clinch.
Meite tries to clinch up but Hainz circles away and keeps his distance. Hainz closes the distance but Meite moves to the side and Meite counters with a good low kick that Hainz was not able to check. Horrible takedown by Meite or perhaps it was just good defense by Hainz which made him look bad. Bruno Hainz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. A punch lands to the side of Hainz 's head but he takes it in his stride. Meite has managed to clinch.

Meite is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Meite is breathing heavily. Meite jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hainz walks away with a smile on his face. Meite gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Meite tries to land a leg kick but Hainz saw it coming and moves away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Hainz as Meite shoots in. Hainz clinches but Meite breaks the clinch and Meite counters by clinching up. Meite is trying to maintain a safe position but Hainz gets an underhook and turns Meite into the cage. Meite misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Hainz.
Meite pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Meite throws a front kick aimed at Hainz's knee but Hainz avoids it well. Meite fails to land the takedown. Meite tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hainz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Meite throws a right hand that Hainz ducks under and follows up with a left that Hainz also avoids with ease. Hainz wants to clinch and Meite makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Hainz really felt that one! Hainz tries to close the distance and clinch but Meite swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Meite fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Meite throws a head kick that misses. Hainz closes the distance but Meite moves to the side and Meite moves into the clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Meite is working for takedown but Hainz is calmly controlling the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Meite showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Nice takedown defense from Hainz. No joy for Meite on that attempt. Meite tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hainz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Meite somewhat. Meite misses with an attempted mid kick.

Hainz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hainz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Meite.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hainz wants to clinch and Meite counters with a nice double leg into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hainz is looking to stand up but Meite isn't so interested in that idea. Meite wants to control from the top but Hainz keeps moving. Hainz kicks Meite off and gets to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meite thuds his shin into the meat of Hainz's side. Meite keeps the fight on the outside. Hainz keeps the fight on the outside. Meite closes the distance and pushes Hainz back into the cage. Bruno Hainz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Meite goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hainz prevents it.

Hainz clinches but Meite breaks the clinch and Meite counters with a single leg into guard. Hainz didn't expect that. Hainz pushes Meite off and gets back to his feet.
Meite misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Meite tries to clinch but Hainz moves out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! John Meite comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Meite winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
