Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sounilus Romulus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alvaro De Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvaro De Silva is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sounilus Romulus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alvaro De Silva! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romulus shoots for a takedown but De Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Romulus scores to the head and body with a nice combination! De Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Romulus's guard. De Silva missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. De Silva wants to control from the top but Romulus keeps moving. De Silva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Romulus looking to hit a scissor sweep but De Silva is one step ahead there. De Silva forces his way into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Romulus tries to roll over but De Silva keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Silva landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. De Silva trying to control the action but Romulus is working from the bottom. Romulus looking for submissions off his back. Romulus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. De Silva working over Romulus with some ground and pound. Romulus looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. De Silva slips a nice elbow through Romulus's hands, connecting with Romulus's forehead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Silva stalling. Romulus blocking the ground and pound attempt from De Silva. De Silva trying to control the action but Romulus is working from the bottom. De Silva performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Romulus gets full guard. De Silva tries to stand but Romulus is controlling from the bottom. Romulus looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Romulus is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romulus working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from De Silva. Romulus keeping full guard, as De Silva tries to pass. Hammerfist, elbow! yells De Silva's corner. There ya go! There ya go! De Silva is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Romulus preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Romulus doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
De Silva controls the pace of the fight for a moment. De Silva trying to control but Romulus is working from the bottom. De Silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Romulus tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Romulus throws his legs up looking for a submission but De Silva uses it to pass to side control.
De Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Romulus is defending well. De Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. De Silva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. De Silva creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alvaro De Silva dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
De Silva tries for a takedown but Romulus circles away easily and Romulus counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Romulus content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. De Silva is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Romulus's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Romulus's back! Romulus is in bad spot here.
De Silva cracks Romulus with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Romulus from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
You can see the frustration on Romulus's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
De Silva scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Romulus is looking for a way out. Romulus looking very determined here, making life difficult for De Silva.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Silva lands strikes to the head. Romulus takes a big shot to the side of the head.
De Silva landing with strikes. De Silva controlling from the back. Romulus wants to control his opponent's hands but De Silva gets his hands free. De Silva slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
De Silva is persistently looking for the submission but Romulus is defending it well.
Romulus tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Silva working away from the top, dropping strikes. De Silva controlling the pace for now. De Silva with shots to the head and body - Romulus looks very uncomfortable down there. Romulus's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. De Silva controlling the position easily from mount. De Silva with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. De Silva landing strikes, looking to finish! De Silva has hold of Romulus's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Romulus manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Alvaro De Silva has got the better of the ground game so far. De Silva looking to ground and pound but Romulus is blocking nicely. Romulus sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. De Silva is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
De Silva wants to take a breather but Romulus is having none of it. Romulus trying to control but De Silva postures up.
Romulus wants to improve his position but De Silva is controlling well.
De Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Romulus is just riding it out for now. De Silva eventually gives up the hold. De Silva wants to take a breather but Romulus is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alvaro De Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
De Silva shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Romulus is trying to defend but De Silva finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Romulus wants to control but De Silva passes into side.

Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
De Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Romulus is defending well. Romulus trying to remain calm as De Silva controls from the top position. De Silva trying to control the position but Romulus is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Romulus manages to work his way to half guard, despite De Silva's best efforts. De Silva is thwarting Romulus's attempts to control the position. De Silva content to control rather than advance. De Silva seems to be looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. De Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Romulus keeps working.
Despite being in the dominant position, Alvaro De Silva just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. De Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Romulus pinned against the cage. Romulus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Sounilus Romulus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Romulus misses with a head kick.

De Silva is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Romulus doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time De Silva. Romulus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of De Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take De Silva's back! Sounilus Romulus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alvaro De Silva is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Romulus is trying to stick to De Silva's back but De Silva is turning into Romulus. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Romulus's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by De Silva.
