Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Orozco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wayne Gilmore!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilmore tries to close the distance and clinch but Orozco swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gilmore lands a head kick!

Orozco decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Orozco is looking to stall here but Gilmore recovers full guard.

Orozco stands up from Gilmore's guard - Orozco perhaps looking for a knockout.
Wayne Gilmore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gilmore misses with a takedown

and Orozco counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gilmore won't be happy with that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Orozco decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Gilmore has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Orozco can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gilmore tries to score a power double leg takedown but Orozco sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gilmore somewhat.

Orozco shoots for a takedown but Gilmore saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Orozco pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Gilmore throws a solid leg kick but Orozco takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gilmore.
Orozco tries to clinch up but Gilmore circles away and keeps his distance.

Gilmore is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

James Orozco overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Gilmore is keen to just control but Orozco is a slippery customer.

Orozco lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

and Orozco counters with a single leg into guard. Gilmore didn't expect that.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Orozco seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Gilmore is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gilmore wants to stand and escape but Orozco is having none of it.

Orozco's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Orozco not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Gilmore wants to stand but Orozco is controlling the position.
Orozco controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Gilmore working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Orozco doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Orozco manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Orozco wants to improve his position but Gilmore is controlling well.
Orozco knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gilmore on the ground.
Gilmore lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gilmore is pressing down on Orozco's thigh, looking to free his foot. Orozco is holding on for now.

Gilmore is working for a guillotine from mount but Orozco frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Orozco tries to lock up and control but Gilmore gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Orozco is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gilmore is not going to allow Orozco to sit and survive in this position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gilmore controls Orozco momentarily but Orozco frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Orozco clinches up with Gilmore and pushes him back against the cage.

Orozco is looking to stall here but Gilmore recovers full guard.
