Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Redknack Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruben Escandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Raised Fist - Friends And Traitors. The crowd seem to be enjoying Escandon's choice of entrance music: Knock The Black Off Yo Ass by Three 6 Mafia. Redknack Bob has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob slips under a jab from Escandon.
Escandon misses with a low kick as Bob jumps back.
Escandon blocks a jab.
Escandon throws a hook to the side of Bob's head but Bob sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bob moves out of range as Escandon strikes.
Bob misses with the combination.
Escandon throws out a loose jab but Bob uses good head movement to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Escandon is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bob.
Escandon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bob moves away.

Bob throws a low kick but it's checked well by Escandon.

Bob displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Escandon throws out the jab.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Escandon throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bob's head.
It looks like Redknack Bob has been cut.
Escandon dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Bob. That did some damage!
Escandon is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Escandon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bob sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Escandon takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Bob with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Escandon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bob moves away.
Escandon doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Bob scores with a takedown into Escandon's guard.

Escandon keeping moving, preventing Bob from controlling successfully.

Escandon is breathing heavily.
Bob drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bob jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Bob pushes down on Escandon's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Bob is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bob thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Bob is looking for a kimura but Escandon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bob to get the leverage.
Bob is looking to take a break and control but Escandon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bob passes the guard and advances to mount!
Bob is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Escandon has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Escandon!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Escandon drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bob dives on top into guard.
Bob cracks Escandon with a solid left hand.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bob's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Bob tries to free his leg and advance position but Escandon is retaining full guard.
Bob looking to sit in guard and control but Escandon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Escandon postures up in Bob's guard and throws a big left but Bob blocks it.
Escandon trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Bob manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Bob is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Bob trying to move into half guard but instead Escandon has managed to sweep!

Escandon has gone for a leg lock! Bob slips out almost immediately though and dives into Escandon's guard.

Bob feints and then cracks Escandon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Escandon down.
Bob lands a head kick. Escandon smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

A looping hook to the body misses from Escandon. Bob does a little dance to reset his feet.

Escandon swats away the attempt to clinch by Bob.
Bob slips a jab from Escandon.
Bob cracks the inside of Escandon's front leg.

Bob connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Escandon misses with a looping left.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bob is looking to wear down Escandon with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Escandon throws a big shot that misses.
Escandon looks to land a right hand but Bob moved out of range.

Escandon throws a front kick aimed at Bob's knee but Bob avoids it well.

Well Bob has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
