1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Kokanee! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kokanee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Burbank moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Burbank is defended easily by Kokanee. A jab lands there for Burbank. Kokanee looks to land a combination but Burbank avoids it well. Burbank showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kokanee.
Left hook, right uppercut from Kokanee. Burbank pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Burbank shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kokanee defends it nicely. Burbank drives through and clinches with Kokanee against the cage.

Burbank drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Burbank wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kokanee keeps working. Burbank working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kokanee can do anything to dispel that myth.

He obviously fancies his chances standing. Burbank shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Burbank stops Kokanee from standing up. Burbank stands up from Kokanee's guard - Burbank perhaps looking for a knockout. Burbank scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Burbank passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kokanee! Burbank working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Kokanee turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Burbank off and cradles Kokanee's limp body as Burbank celebrates with his corner.
