Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas's entrance music is Drowning Pool- Let the bodies hit the floor. A fine choice. Gracie has chosen Blood - Pearl Jam as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Douglas looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Douglas drops back looking for a leg! Gracie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gracie manages to kick Douglas off! Douglas jumps back into Gracie's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Douglas slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Douglas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gracie has escaped the position, nice work there. Gracie can't do much from the bottom here. Gracie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Douglas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Gracie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Douglas, pushing him back against the cage. Gracie looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Douglas can't get the takedown.
Douglas is trying to drag Gracie to the mat but Gracie just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Gracie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Gracie clinches up with Douglas and pushes him back against the cage. Gracie gets underhooks to prevent Douglas's takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gracie has Douglas pushed against the cage. Gracie stops a takedown attempt from Douglas.

Gracie is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Douglas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gracie counters with a series of strikes. Gracie's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Gracie continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Douglas has Gracie pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gracie manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Gracie throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Douglass head. Douglas gets control of Gracie's arms and successfully pulls guard. Douglas will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Gracie wants to get up but he can't break Douglas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Douglas throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Douglas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gracie is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gracie has escaped and now he's on top! Douglas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Douglas works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Gracie looking to sit in guard and control but Douglas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Douglas is fighting to break Gracie's control of his arms but Gracie is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Douglas stops Gracie from standing up. Gracie pulls Douglas in close to his closed guard and prevents Douglas from doing any damage or advancing position. Douglas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Douglas tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Douglas from controlling successfully. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Douglas fails to land the takedown. Douglas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gracie tries to avoid it but Douglas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gracie to the ground. Gracie escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gavin Douglas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Douglas. Gracie fails in his attempt to clinch. Douglas fails with a takedown attempt. Gracie dives in and grabs Douglas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Douglas pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Douglas paws at him with a jab and circles away. Douglas shoots in but Gracie avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nice sprawl there from Gracie as Douglas shoots in.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Royce Gracie. I think Douglas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
