Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gerry Vaughn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Schulz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerry Vaughn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Schulz! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schulz cracks Vaughn with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Schulz cracks a nice hook into Vaughn's ribs. Vaughn keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Schulz. Nice body punch from Schulz. Vaughn shoots in looking for a takedown. Schulz tries to sprawl out of it but Vaughn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schulz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Schulz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vaughn tries to avoid it but Schulz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vaughn to the ground. Vaughn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Schulz throws a hook but Vaughn blocks it.

Schulz pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Vaughn tries to clinch there but Schulz circles away.
Vaughn fails with the takedown and Schulz counters with a lovely straight right hand! Schulz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Vaughn throws a front kick aimed at Schulz's knee but Schulz avoids it well. Vaughn ducks under a wild hook from Schulz.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Vaughn is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Schulz lands with a good body shot. Vaughn slips a jab and a cross from Schulz.
Schulz throws a jab but it's blocked by Vaughn. Schulz thows a body shot but no joy. Vaughn is looking to clinch but Schulz is avoiding it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Donk. Schulz catches Vaughn right on the button with a cross. Schulz misses with a hook. Vaughn misses with a takedown attempt and Schulz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gerry Vaughn. That's going to take a lot out of him. Schulz feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Vaughn's calf. Schulz tries to bum rush Vaughn with a series of wild strikes but Vaughn uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Vaughn tries for a takedown but Schulz circles away easily letting Schulz counter with a right hand.
It looks like Gerry Vaughn has been cut. Vaughn is breathing heavily. A good leg kick by Schulz.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schulz misses with a leg kick. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Vaughn throws a chopping leg kick but Schulz manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Schulz gets the takedown into side control. Schulz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vaughn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Schulz working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vaughn wants to get back to his feet but Schulz drags him back down. Schulz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Schulz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Vaughn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vaughn tries to get out of the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. You can see the frustration on Vaughn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Schulz throws an overhand right that lands on Vaughn's shoulder, as Vaughn tries to avoid the shot. Vaughn throws a looping overhand right but Schulz ducks down to avoid it. A jab from Schulz misses. Vaughn falls off balance throwing a combination
and Schulz counters with a low kick, right behind Vaughn 's knee.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vaughn defending well as Schulz loads up on a big left hand. Schulz misses the jab. Vaughn slips a jab from Schulz. Vaughn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Schulz. Vaughn doesn't succeed with the takedown and Schulz counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Schulz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Vaughn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Schulz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Vaughn wants to control but Schulz is keeping busy and won't allow it. Schulz wants to free his trapped foot but Vaughn is holding on for dear life with his legs. Schulz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

He's simply no match for Schulz on the ground. Vaughn won't allow Schulz to pass to mount. Vaughn is in trouble now - Schulz has advanced to mount! Schulz scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Schulz is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Vaughn has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Vaughn wants to hold on but Schulz pushes him away. Schulz wants to finish this one by submission but Vaughn is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Schulz. Schulz working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Schulz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Vaughn can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vaughn is trying to control the action in half guard but Schulz is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Schulz is pressing down on Vaughn's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Schulz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Vaughn is aware though and is defending well. Schulz tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schulz has his foot on Vaughn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vaughn works his way back into a safe position though. Schulz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Schulz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vaughn defends it easily. Vaughn is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. John Schulz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Vaughn postures up.
Schulz is pulling down on Vaughn's head. It's preventing any offense from Vaughn, at least for the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! John Schulz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Schulz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
