Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hal Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Claude Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Thompson is looking to chop away at Hill's legs.
Hill closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Thompson is trying to stand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hill drops back, looking for a kneebar! Thompson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Thompson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Thompson!

That was a close round but I would say that Hal Hill will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hill shoots for a takedown but Thompson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hill has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Thompson finds it's way round the side to connect with Hill's head.

Hill shoots in for a double leg but Thompson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hill looks to land a combination but Thompson avoids it well.

Thompson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hill has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Hill knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thompson on the ground.
Thompson is not going to allow Hill to sit and survive in this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Thompson is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Hill up.

I would just about give that final round to Claude Thompson.
