Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Cunanan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bobby Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andrew Cunanan!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cunanan shoots in and bounces Lee off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cunanan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lee is looking to stand up but Cunanan isn't so interested in that idea.
Cunanan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Cunanan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cunanan has gone for a leg lock! Lee slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cunanan's guard.

Lee wants to stand but Cunanan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Lee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cunanan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lee has managed to get both his arms back between Cunanan's legs - danger averted.
Lee lands a couple of elbows.
Lee really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cunanan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lee throws and elbow that misses. Cunanan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lee's guard. Nice move by Cunanan!

Cunanan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cunanan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Cunanan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Lee is trying to control but can't.

Cunanan slows the pace down in half guard.
Lee wants to get back to his feet.

Cunanan gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Nice sprawl there from Lee as Cunanan shoots in.

and Cunanan counters with a single leg into guard. Lee didn't expect that.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lee with a poor takedown

and Cunanan counters with a single leg into guard. Lee didn't expect that.

Lee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cunanan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cunanan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cunanan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Cunanan cracks Lee with a solid left hand.
Cunanan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cunanan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lee is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lee has escaped and now he's on top!

Leeis looking to pass into half guard but Cunanan pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Cunanan is in guard.
Cunanan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lee is trying to keep Cunanan in close.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lee looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cunanan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Andrew Cunanan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cunanan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cunanan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lee as he avoids it easily.

Lee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cunanan is one step ahead there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Cunanan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cunanan is thwarting Lee's attempts to control the position.
Lee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cunanan wants to free his trapped foot but Lee is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Well, if Cunanan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Cunanan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Lee doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Cunanan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cunanan.
Cunanan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Cunanan trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cunanan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lee looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lee looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lee!
Lee wants to control but Cunanan is keeping him busy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cunanan is trying to improve his position.
Cunanan is not content to let Lee control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cunanan managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lee.
Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cunanan keeps working.
Lee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Lee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lee doesn't manage to clinch there - Cunanan circles away.

and Cunanan counters with a shoot takedown. Lee fights it but they end up in guard.

Lee wants to advance to full mount but Cunanan doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Cunanan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lee wants to control but Cunanan is keeping busy.
Lee is staying active underneath Cunanan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bobby Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
