The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
silva takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like anderson silva has been cut.
No joy there for Stratos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stratos uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from silva.
silva rushes Stratos and presses him up against the cage.
Stratos breaks from the clinch.
silva blocks a head kick by Stratos.
Stratos throws a right hand that silva ducks under and follows up with a left that silva also avoids with ease.
Stratos fails to land with a series of punches.
silva lands a head kick. Stratos smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
silva clinches with his opponent.
silva lands a body punch in the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
silva is pushing Stratos up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
silva has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Stratos clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
silva controlling the position well here. Stratos rolled but silva kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round but I would say that anderson silva will probably get the nod.

Stratos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - silva lands in his opponent's guard.

silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stratos's guard.

silva frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

silva breaks from Stratos's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
