Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew Storm! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Saxton Hale! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hale keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hale throws a jab when Storm was well out of range. Andrew Storm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hale shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hale was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hale looking to ground and pound but Storm is blocking nicely. Hale avoids the attempt from Storm to control. Storm is trying to escape the mount.
Hale throws some wild stikes that Storm manages to avoid easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Storm regains half guard. Hale sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Storm defending well though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hale thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Hale not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hale prevents Storm from standing back up.
Storm blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hale. Storm is holding on to half guard well. Storm avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hale. Storm is trying to stand.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hale clinches up with Storm and pushes him back against the cage. Hale lands a hook that snaps the head of Storm backwards. Both guys are working to get underhooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Storm is pushing Hale up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Nice body punch from Hale. Hale tries to throw a body punch but Storm avoids it by throwing Hale back against the cage. Storm blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A short right from Hale on the inside. Storm breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Storm lands a jab to the nose. Andrew Storm is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Storm avoids the body shot from Hale.
Storm thows a left - swing and a miss! Storm misses with the combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Storm throws a right hand that Hale ducks under and follows up with a left that Hale also avoids with ease. Hale shoots in for a takedown but Storm shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A right-left combo lands from Storm. Storm throws a series of strikes that have Hale backpedaling.
Storm throws a body punch but Hale moves out of range. Hale forces Storm back against the cage and clinches. Storm drags the fight down to the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Storm not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hale trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hale throws a strike but Storm rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Storm slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hale wants to sweep here but Storm controlling him for the moment. Storm is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hale looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Andrew Storm dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Storm misses with a shot to the body so Hale counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hale throws and elbow that misses. Storm uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hale's guard. Nice move by Storm! Hale trying to control the position here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hale is on top in guard.

Hale got a little sloppy there for a moment and Storm has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hale has managed to get both his arms back between Storm's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hale scoring with some ground and pound. Hale keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Storm's head. Storm avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hale is pushing down on Storm's leg trying to pass to half guard. Storm is fighting to maintain full guard but Hale has managed to sneak the leg through. Hale not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hale is pressing down on Storm's thigh, looking to free his foot. Storm is holding on for now. Hale is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Storm has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hale is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hale with the ground and pound but Storm uses the opportunity to regain guard. Hale working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hale thows a big elbow that misses. Hale scoring with punches to the head and body. Hale passes easily into side control. Nice work. Hale creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Storm sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Storm wants to control but Hale postures up. Storm is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Storm regains half guard. Storm regains full guard. Nicely done. Hale postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Storm wants to improve his position but instead Hale has moved into half guard.
Hale is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Storm wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hale.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Storm is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Storm tries to lock up and control but Hale gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Storm is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hale scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Hale misses with a head shot. Hale punching from mount but Storm doing a good job of avoiding damage. Hale has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Storm throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Hale putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! BOOM! Hale connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Storm is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Saxton Hale showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Storm slowing the pace effectively. Storm is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hale. Hale keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Storm's efforts to push away. Hale misses with a shot to the kidneys.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hale misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Hale throwing strikes from guard but Storm blocks nicely. Haleis looking to pass into half guard but Storm pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Storm is in guard. Hale has Storm pulled in close to control his posture. Hale keeping moving, preventing Storm from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Storm makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hale is trying to keep Storm in close.
Hale looking for a sweep. Not yet Hale, not yet. Hale controls Storm momentarily but Storm frees himself. Hale has control of Storm's left arm, preventing Storm from doing any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Storm controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Saxton Hale. I think Hale has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
