Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Ja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz has chosen Godsmack- Cryin' Like A Bitch as his entrance music. Pablo Ja has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pablo Ja! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Diaz! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ja scores with a three punch combo!
Diaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ja moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Diaz fails with an attempt to clinch.

Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch but Ja swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Diaz misses with a two punch combination.
Ja throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diaz's waist but Diaz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ja off to one side. Diaz tries to clinch up but Ja circles away and keeps his distance. Diaz throws a right and a left that Ja avoids nicely. Diaz avoids the body shot from Ja.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ja throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ja throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely. A nice combination there by Diaz.
Ja throws a body punch but Diaz moves out of range. Diaz throws a series of strikes that have Ja backpedaling.
Diaz works Ja's body with a nice hook. Diaz pushes Ja up against the cage in a clinch. Diaz misses with some punches.

Ja really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Diaz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Diaz stalks Ja and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ja's face. Ja staggers backwards, shaken. Diaz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ja has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ja tries to score a power double leg takedown but Diaz sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ja somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pablo Ja. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Diaz is working the combinations to good effect here. Diaz gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ja blocks an uppercut.
Diaz is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Ja is working Diaz over against the cage. Ja lands a shoulder strike. Diaz tries to break free but Ja pushes him back against the cage. Diaz breaks the clinch.

Ja wants to stand and escape but Diaz is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz stands up from guard. Let's bang! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Diaz clinches but Ja breaks the clinch and Ja counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Diaz wants to clinch but Ja slips to the side and Ja counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricardo Diaz dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Diaz takes the fight into the clinch. Diaz swings wildly with an uppercut but Ja uses good head movement to avoid it. Nice body punch from Ja. Ja has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Diaz regains guard immediately. Diaz being controlled here, momentarily. Diaz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ja is controlling him.

Diaz is looking to control Ja's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Diaz avoid being mounted? Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ja in particular looking to stall. Diaz is staying active underneath Ja, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Ja is thwarting Diaz's attempts to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ja decides to stand up. Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ja swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ja scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Ja falls off balance throwing a combination
and Diaz holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Ja blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

and Diaz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz forces his way into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are battling for position here. Ja manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Diaz stopping the sweep attempt from Ja. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ja wants to stand but Diaz is controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pablo Ja seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz tries to close the distance and clinch but Ja swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Diaz walks away with a smile on his face. Ja gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Diaz fails in his attempt to clinch. Diaz stuffs the takedown attempt from Ja. Ja gets slowly back to his feet. Diaz keeps the fight on the outside. Ja throws a combination that misses and Diaz counters with a nice body shot. Ja misses with a double jab
and Diaz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Ja dodges the punch combination from Diaz.
Ja is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. No joy there for Diaz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Diaz slips a jab and a cross from Ja.
Ja will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ja looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Ja tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Diaz counters with a three punch combo that has Ja backing up. Ja nods at Diaz to acknowledge the strikes. Ja throws a combination that misses and Diaz counters by clinching up. Diaz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ja circles away from the clinch attempt.
Diaz thuds a left hand into Ja's body. Diaz tries to clinch there but Ja circles away.

and Diaz counters with a lovely shot to the body. Ja misses with a body shot
and Diaz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ja tries to clinch but Diaz moves out of range. Ja throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely. Diaz lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

And that's the end of the fight! Ricardo Diaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Diaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
