The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Kwai does no damage.
Kwai throws a looping overhand right but Budgell ducks down to avoid it.
Budgell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Budgell showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kwai keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Budgell takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Budgell is looking for a kimura but Kwai is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Budgell to get the leverage.
Kwai keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Budgell is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Budgell is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Kwai is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
