Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Byter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Byter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Thiago Silva! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Byter shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Silva leaves Byter with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Silva drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Silva stopping the sweep attempt from Byter. Byter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground. Silva trying to control but Byter is working from the bottom. Byter trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Byter is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva, into his guard. Byter preventing the sweep. Silva is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Byter postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Silva drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Silva wants to control from the top but Byter keeps moving. Silva controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Silva postures up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Silva looks gassed! Byter is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silva is controlling him. Byter manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Byter closes the distance and pushes Silva back into the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Byter jumps guard and drags Silva to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Silva content to stall in guard here. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Byter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silva's guard. Byter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Byter is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silva defends well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Thiago Silva will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
The fight stays on the outside here - Byter looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Byter forces Silva back against the cage and clinches. Silva gets underhooks to prevent Byter's takedown attempt.

Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown and Byter counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Byter drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silva is on top in guard.
Byter wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Byter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Byter in his guard. Byter is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control. Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Byter is aware though and is defending well. Byter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Byter is looking to stand up but Silva won't let him. Silva wants to sweep here but Byter controlling him for the moment. Byter passes Silva's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Byter trying to control the pace. Silva is trying to control but Byter passes into side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva seems a little lost for a moment, as Byter dominates the positioning. Silva tries to improve position but can't. Byter wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy. Silva is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Byter's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Byter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Silva is trying to control the position but Byter postures up. Silva is looking for a triangle but Byter pushes his legs off easily.

Byter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Byter has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Silva looking to control.

Byter shoots and misses and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Byter fights it but they end up in guard. Byter controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself. Silva wants to control from the top but Byter keeps moving. Byter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Silva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Silva fails with the takedown so Byter counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Byter wants to get up but he can't break Silva's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Byter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Silva, who protects the arm well. Silva struggling a bit here. Silva tries to improve position but can't.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Byter takes the fight into the clinch. Byter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Byter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Byter prevents Silva from improving his position. Silva is looking to control Byter's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Silva avoid being mounted? Silva wants to sweep but Byter has passed to side control!
And that's the end of the fight! Mario Byter showed his dominance in that final round. Well Byter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
