Nakamura comes into the arena with Amazing blaring out of the sound system. Grigoriy Rasputin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Grigoriy Rasputin!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Rasputin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nakamura circles away.
Nakamura scores with a jab.
Rasputin takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Nakamura fails to land with a series of punches.
Kenji Nakamura is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rasputin moves into range and clinches up with Nakamura.

Rasputin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rasputin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nakamura swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rasputin moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Rasputin gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Rasputin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nakamura throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nakamura swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Rasputin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rasputin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nakamura sprawls well. Nakamura wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rasputin gets slowly back to his feet.
Rasputin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nakamura misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Rasputin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Rasputin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Nakamura has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Rasputin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Grigoriy Rasputin will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Rasputin throws a sloppy head kick and Nakamura moves out of range easily.
Rasputin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nakamura tries to avoid it but Rasputin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nakamura to the ground. Nakamura escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Rasputin makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Rasputin takes a kick to the side of the head.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Nakamura, right into the meat.
Nakamura works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Rasputin drives through and clinches with Nakamura against the ropes.

Rasputin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nakamura thows a body shot but no joy.
Rasputin tries to clinch but Nakamura moves out of range.
Left hook, right uppercut from Nakamura.
Nakamura blocks a head kick by Rasputin.
Kenji Nakamura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nakamura avoids the head kick by Rasputin.

Nakamura takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like Kenji Nakamura has been cut.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nakamura scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Rasputin throws a head kick but Nakamura moves out of range.
Rasputin moves in looking to clinch but Nakamura pushes him off.

and Rasputin counters with a huge head kick that drops Nakamura! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!
