Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blake Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Sherm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gray comes to the cage accompanied by "Beautiful Dangerous" by Slash. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Blake Gray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Sherm! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gray has managed to clinch.
Gray has picked Sherm up - he's going for a ride! Gray dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Sherm tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Gray is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sherm wants to get back to full guard. Sherm looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Sherm actively working from the bottom here. Sherm tries to get to full guard but Gray has control of the leg. Gray tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sherm knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Sherm is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gray pulls his head out easily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gray closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sherm to the mat! Sherm manages to get full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gray postures up in Sherm's guard and throws a big left but Sherm blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sherm is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gray defends well. Sherm working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gray doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gray manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Sherm looks gassed! Gray pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sherm is keeping the position for now. Sherm working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gray. Sherm has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gray can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Gray's corner is telling him to maintain position. Gray trying to control but Sherm is working from the bottom. Gray pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sherm is keeping the position for now. Sherm escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gray gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Gray looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sherm looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gray puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Gray is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Gray wants to work for an arm triangle but Sherm is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gray is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sherm defends it well. Gray wants to stand but Sherm has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Sherm looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Sherm is looking for a sweep. Gray is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gray misses with a head kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sherm has his takedown stuffed and Gray counters with a takedown into side control. Gray wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sherm keeps working. Sherm is looking to regain half guard here but Gray keeps moving and retains side control. Sherm is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sherm is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gray off and has taken his back! Gray breaks Sherm's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Gray is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sherm is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sherm throws a big right hand that misses. Gray avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Sherm thows a big elbow that misses. Sherm is fighting to break Gray's control of his arms but Gray is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Sherm pushes down on Gray's leg and manages to get into half guard. Gray is defending against the submission attempts here by Sherm.
Gray keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Sherm seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Blake Gray dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gray tries to clinch but Sherm is having none of it. Sherm keeps the fight on the outside. Sherm is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gray. Gray shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sherm napping and manages to drive through into side control! Gray wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sherm, who protects the arm well. Sherm regains half guard. Sherm makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sherm. Gray has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Sherm keeping moving, preventing Gray from controlling successfully. Gray tries to free his leg and advance position but Sherm is retaining full guard. Sherm is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Gray frees his head nicely. Oh but Sherm has switched to an armbar! Gray is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
