Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul Rojas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rojas connects with a jab. Rojas looks to throw the jab but Silva is out of range. Rojas cracks Silva with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Rojas scores with a nice right hand.
It looks like Marcus Silva has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Silva tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rojas was well out of range. Poor timing from Silva. Rojas tries to keep at a distance but Silva has taken the fight into the clinch. Stalling in the clinch from Silva.
Rojas tries to break the clinch but Silva is controlling the position. Rojas is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Rojas being controlled against the cage. A short left from Silva. Silva gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Rojas pulls Silva in to control the position. Rojas trying to control the position.

Rojas lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Silva! Silva bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Silva won't allow Rojas to sweep him here. Rojas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silva's guard. Silva has control of Rojas's left arm, preventing Rojas from doing any damage. Silva tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rojas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Silva wriggles free and stands up. Silva drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rojas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Rojas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Rojas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva stopping the sweep attempt from Rojas.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Silva throws a big right hand that misses. Rojas tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rojas not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rojas looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range. Rojas misses with a leg kick. Silva wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Rojas lands a nice looking body shot.

Silva does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Paul Rojas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rojas connects with a looping right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Silva swings and misses with a hook to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rojas throws a hook to the side of Silva's head but Silva sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Silva blocks a jab. Rojas looks to land a right hand but Silva moved out of range. Silva moves out of range of the strikes. Rojas lands with a shot to the body. Rojas throws a body punch but Silva moves out of range. Silva throws a lazy right hand but Rojas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Silva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rojas did well to prevent Silva getting side control. Rojas wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.
Rojas is not content to let Silva control the position. Silva is looking to advance position but Rojas won't allow it. Rojas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silva is working away from the top position though. Silva not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rojas keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rojas tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rojas's corner calls for a 1-2. Rojas obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Rojas lands the left hand. Silva slips under a jab from Rojas. Rojas fails to land with a series of punches.
Rojas uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Silva.

Silva lands with a punch from half guard. Rojas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silva is working away from the top position though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rojas moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Silva sitting in guard here, content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Paul Rojas has been cut. Silva creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Silva gets through Rojas's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Silva creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Rojas's defenses. Silva taking a breather. Rojas wants to break the clinch but can't.
Silva has Rojas pressed against the cage, preventing Rojas from circling away and getting back to striking at range. A nice glancing elbow lands by Silva. Nice elbow from Silva. Paul Rojas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Silva uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rojas. Rojas is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Rojas throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Paul Rojas is winning the standup battle so far. Rojas throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range. Silva looks to score with a jab to the body but Rojas is just out of range. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rojas!

Silva shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Silva moves into range and clinches up with Rojas. Silva blocking some punches.

Rojas has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Rojas avoiding damage as Silva throws knees to the body.

Silva continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Silva lands a damaging elbow. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Silva is trying to control the action in half guard but Rojas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Silva scoring with strikes to the body and head. Rojas keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Rojas is trying to get back to full guard. Silva not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rojas controlling the position for now. Silva wants to take a breather but Rojas is having none of it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Silva gets a takedown into half guard. Rojas is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Silva cracks Rojas with an open hand slap.

Silva saw that one coming. Silva scores a takedown into full mount! Rojas is desperately trying to improve his position but Silva has a good base and remains in mount. Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rojas is looking to get to half guard. Rojas is working hard here to advance position. Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rojas is in all sorts of trouble here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Silva avoids the attempt from Rojas to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva cracks Rojas with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Silva controlling the position easily from mount. Rojas is bucking up trying to escape but Silva cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Rojas keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
A nice elbow there by Silva. Rojas tries to get back to half guard but can't. Rojas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Rojas working to try and regain half guard.
The referee warns Rojas that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Silva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
