Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mongo Martensite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lui Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martensite comes to the ring accompanied by the Hellacopters - (Gotta Get Some Action) Now! . Kang has chosen Moby - Extreme Ways as his entrance music. Lui Kang struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.7lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kang lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Martensite's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Kang moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Martensite has worked his arm free - good work by Martensite!

Kang gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Martensite to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Martensite dives in and grabs Kang's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kang pushes down on Martensite's head and hops out.

Kang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Martensite feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
