Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan Hardy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frederik Kraus!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kraus looks for a takedown but Hardy sprawls well.
Kraus slips a jab and a cross from Hardy.
Hardy missing with a left hand there. Kraus was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kraus moves out of range of the body kick from Hardy.
Dan Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kraus has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kraus there as he acknowledges the shot.
Kraus avoids a punch combination nicely.

Kraus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kraus throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hardy wants to improve his position but Kraus is controlling well.

Kraus prevents Hardy from getting back to his feet.

Kraus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hardy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kraus has managed to get both his arms back between Hardy's legs - danger averted.

Hardy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kraus gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kraus must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Kraus shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hardy is trying to defend but Kraus finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Hardy tries to roll over but Kraus keeps him under control.
Kraus content to control rather than advance.
Hardy is trying to stand up here but Kraus is controlling him well.

Kraus scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kraus decides to stand and escape the position.

Kraus rushes Hardy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hardy tries to circle away but Kraus has him pinned against the cage.

Kraus is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hardy can't fight it off and eventually Kraus manages to take the fight to the floor. Hardy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kraus stands up and waves to Hardy to follow him.
Good exchange - Hardy coming out on top.

Kraus throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Hardy throws a hook but Kraus avoids it easily.

Hardy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hardy throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hardy throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kraus makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Hardy misses with a wild combination.

Kraus scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hardy is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hardy is trying to stand.
Kraus looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hardy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hardy won't allow Kraus to pass to mount.
Kraus content to control rather than advance.
Kraus prevents Hardy from improving his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kraus uses his free foot to push down on Hardy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hardy.

Hardy tries to reverse the position but Kraus maintains control.
Kraus lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hardy is looking to get to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frederik Kraus dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kraus misses the jab.
Hardy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kraus counters with a nice uppercut.
Hardy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kraus is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hardy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kraus slips a jab and a cross from Hardy.
Kraus checks a leg kick nicely.
Kraus moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hardy throws a head kick but Kraus moves out of range.
Kraus will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Kraus decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hardy's guard.

Hardy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hardy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kraus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hardy is tightening it up a little... Kraus has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Kraus reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Kraus taps out! nice BJJ there by Hardy!
