Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Genji Takiya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabiano Marques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takiya comes to the cage accompanied by Black Label. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Genji Takiya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Fabiano Marques!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marques shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Marques stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takiya swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Marques is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Marques pushes down on Takiya's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Marques trying to control from half guard but Takiya is working away.
Takiya knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marques on the ground.

Marques is looking for a kimura here.

Takiya wants to improve his position but Marques is controlling well.

Takiya is not content to let Marques control the position.
Marques passes to side control.
Marques wants to control but Takiya is keeping him busy.

Marques is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Takiya knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Marques is trying to ground and pound but Takiya uses the momentary lack of control by Marques to regain half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Marques wants to take a breather but Takiya is having none of it.
Marques looks gassed!

Marques is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Takiya wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are battling for position here. Takiya manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Marques drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marques jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Takiya is trying to keep Marques in close.

Takiya is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Marques is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Marques stops Takiya from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marques tries to lock up and control but Takiya gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Takiya cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Takiya can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Marques is looking to escape.

Marques keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

A close round but Fabiano Marques will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Takiya tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Marques paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Takiya is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Marques's half guard.
Marques is trying to maintain the position but Takiya is very close to passing his half guard.

Takiya thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Marques's head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Takiya gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Takiya lands with a short punch from the clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Takiya stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Takiya jumps into guard, dragging Marques to the mat.
Marques pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Takiya is keeping the position for now.

Marques thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Takiya working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marques doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Marques manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Takiya shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Takiya showed some decent athleticism there.
Marques is staying active underneath Takiya, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Marques is looking to control Takiya's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Marques avoid being mounted?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Takiya changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Marques looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Marques can't do much from the bottom here.

You can see the frustration on Marques's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
