Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Emilio Martinez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Perez! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perez misses with a body shot.
Perez misses with a double jab.
Martinez dodges the punch combination from Perez.
Perez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Martinez has a takedown stuffed. Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch but Perez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Perez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Perez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martinez avoids the body shot from Perez.
Perez slaps away a takedown attempt from Martinez, before circling back to the center of the mat. Martinez tries to clinch there but Perez circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez keeps the fight on the outside. No joy there for Perez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Martinez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Nick Perez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Perez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nick Perez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Martinez. Martinez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Perez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Martinez to score an easy takedown into full guard. Perez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martinez throws a big right hand that misses. Perez wants to stand up but Martinez is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Martinez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Martinez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Martinez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Martinez content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Martinez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Perez is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Martinez looks up at the clock and then as Perez takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Martinez smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Martinez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Perez is not content to let Martinez control the position. Martinez lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Martinez cracks Perez with a big right hand but Perez just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Martinez connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Perez some visible discomfort.
Martinez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Perez, who protects the arm well. Perez can't do much from the bottom here. Martinez prevents Perez from escaping the position.

Emilio Martinez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Martinez lands some shots froms side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martinez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Perez has escaped the position, nice work there. Martinez swings around for an armbar but Perez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Martinez's guard. Perez wants to control from the top but Martinez keeps moving. That's four minutes gone in the round. Nick Perez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Martinez wants to sweep here but Perez controlling him for the moment. Emilio Martinez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Martinez is trying to keep Perez in close.

And that's the end of the fight! Emilio Martinez showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Martinez, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
