PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Todd Snap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tama Bang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Snap comes to the cage accompanied by Eye of the tiger. Bang is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bang Bang Bang. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Todd Snap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tama Bang!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Bang.


It looks like Todd Snap has been cut.
Tama Bang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bang will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bang throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bang misses with an uppercut. Snap saw that one coming.

Snap shoots in looking for a takedown. Bang tries to sprawl out of it but Snap keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bang wants to clinch up but Snap keeps it at a distance.

Bang throws a nice looking combination but Snap bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Snap bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Snap seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Bang is being controlled here.
Snap tries to advance to mount but can't.
Snap trying to control the position but Bang is working away.
Bang prevents Snap from moving into mount.
Bang is trying to escape the position but Snap is controlling the position.

Snap tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Snap has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Bang lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Snap is breathing heavily.

Tama Bang is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Snap darts in trying to clinch

and Bang counters with a crisp one two that drops Snap! Bang thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Snap to his feet! Snap is in big trouble!


Snap is rocked!
Bang swinging wildly here.

Bang drops Snap with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Snap looks back up at him and smiles so Bang waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Snap is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Snap walks into a left hand.
Snap seems to have got his legs back now.

Bang cracks Snap with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Snap looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bang finish him?


Snap is rocked!


Todd Snap's cut is getting worse.
Bang throws a series of punches but Snap avoids them all with ease.
Bang throws a right and a left that Snap avoids nicely.
Bang throws a nice looking combination but Snap bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bang closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Bang pushes Snap up against the cage in a clinch.

Bang breaks the clinch.
Bang fails to land with a series of punches.
Bang is looking to clinch.
Bang misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bang throws a series of punches but Snap moves out of range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bang looks like he's trying to stand up.
Snap wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bang keeps working.

No joy there for Bang, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Snap is keen to just control but Bang is a slippery customer.
Bang is trying to stand.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Horrible takedown by Snap or perhaps it was just good defense by Bang which made him look bad.

Snap not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Snap sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bang's guard.

Bang is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Todd Snap.
I think Snap has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
