Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jaroslav Halak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Randy Eisel! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eisel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Halak but Halak pushes him off and we're back to square one. Eisel tries to clinch but Halak moves out of range. Halak tries to close the distance and clinch but Eisel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The fight stays on the outside here - Halak looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Eisel tries to clinch but Halak moves out of range. Eisel misses with a head kick.
Eisel lands a body shot.

Halak instigates a clinch. Eisel wants to break the clinch but can't.
Halak is struggling to control the position. Halak tries to land a knee to the head but Eisel blocks with his arms.
Eisel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Halak has Eisel up against the cage in a clinch.
Eisel doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Eisel drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Halak gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Halak misses with a knee strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Eisel's face as he tries to break the clinch. Eisel fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jaroslav Halak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Eisel. Eisel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Eisel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Eisel tries to stand but Halak is controlling his head. Halak manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Halak is trying is best to control the position here. Halak is looking for a sweep. Eisel is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Halak controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eisel is pressing down on Halak's thigh, looking to free his foot. Halak is holding on for now. Halak keeping control of the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eisel is trying to work for a kimura but Halak is defending well.
Eisel tries to stand and escape but Halak actually recovers to full guard. Halak has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Halak keeping moving, preventing Eisel from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Eisel stays in close to Halak's body and controls the position. Halak is breathing heavily. Halak is pulling down on Eisel's head. It's preventing any offense from Eisel, at least for the moment. Halak keeping full guard, as Eisel tries to pass. Halak managing to control the position. Eisel wants to pass the guard but Halak is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jaroslav Halak will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Good leg kick by Eisel there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Eisel jumps guard but Halak stands there with Eisel around his waist. Eisel gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Eisel tries to work over Halak's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Halak has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Halak tries a knee to the head but Eisel blocks it.
Eisel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Eisel throws a push kick but Halak slaps the foot to one side. Halak moves into the clinch. Halak manages to break the clinch.
Halak tries to close the distance and clinch up but Eisel swats him away and circles back towards the center. Eisel connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Halak's hands. Halak tries to keep at a distance but Eisel has taken the fight into the clinch. Eisel wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Halak has him pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Halak looking to throw knees to the head but Eisel is blocking nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Eisel looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. A knee to the head by Halak.
Eisel wants to break the clinch but can't.
Halak tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Eisel breaks the clinch.
Halak gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Halak prevents the takedown attempt.

Eisel is trying to force a seperation but Halak has the dominant position. Eisel is trying to break the clinch but Halak is controlling him. A frustrated look appears on Eisel's face as he tries to break the clinch. Halak misses with a knee strike.

Eisel stalling in the clinch but Halak improves position. Eisel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Eisel throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Eisel, as that shot connected.
Eisel dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Eisel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Halak on the wrong end of a nice jab. A low kick from Halak misses and Eisel counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eisel fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Halak sprawls well initially but Eisel persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Halak is trying to control but can't.
Halak is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Eisel is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Eisel not landing any meaningful shots this time. Eisel wants to stand up but Halak has a hold of him and won't allow it. Eisel wants to control but Halak is keeping him busy. Halak trying to control from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Eisel scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Eisel digs a good body shot into Halak's ribs. Halak closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Randy Eisel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Eisel drives through with a takedown into guard. Halak pulls Eisel in close to his closed guard and prevents Eisel from doing any damage or advancing position. Eisel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Eisel scoring with some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Eisel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Halak is looking to clinch. Eisel tries to clinch up but Halak circles away and keeps his distance. That made a horrendous noise. Eisel tries to clinch but Halak moves out of range. Eisel drives through and clinches with Halak against the cage.

Eisel is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Halak landing knees to the head.
Eisel trying to control the position but instead, Halak has worked for underhooks and has pushed Eisel into the cage. Eisel jumps guard but Halak stands there with Eisel around his waist. Eisel gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Eisel tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Halak throws a leg kick and Eisel counters with a lovely shot to the body. Eisel connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Eisel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Halak is trying to get back to half guard. Halak prevents Eisel from improving position. That's two minutes gone in the round. Eisel controls the position. Halak tries to improve position but can't. Eisel is looking to take a break and control but Halak is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Eisel feints and as Halak raises his hands in defense, Eisel changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eisel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Eisel is looking to stand up but Halak won't let him. Eisel is looking to work some ground and pound but Halak has wrist control. Halak keeping moving, preventing Eisel from controlling successfully. Halak looking for a sweep. Not yet Halak, not yet. Halak is working hard here to advance position. Eisel stays in close to Halak's body and controls the position. Eisel decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Halak, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Eisel lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Eisel throws a good cross that connects.
Eisel lands a nice hook to Halak's body. Halak takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Halak throws a head kick that half lands.
Eisel tries to clinch but Halak moves out of range. Eisel takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Halak instigates a clinch. Eisel wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Eisel wants a takedown.
Eisel tries to break free but Halak pushes him back against the cage. Eisel breaks from the clinch.
Halak blocks a head kick by Eisel.
Eisel lands a slapping body shot.
Eisel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Halak sprawls well. Halak wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Eisel gets slowly back to his feet. Eisel circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! Randy Eisel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Eisel has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
