PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Omega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lonnie Kiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Omega comes to the cage accompanied by Smells like teen spirit. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kiger throws a shot from downtown. Omega moves away and avoids it.
Kiger throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nice shot lands for Kiger.
Kiger tries to clinch but Omega moves out of range.
Kiger shoots in looking for a takedown. Omega tries to sprawl out of it but Kiger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Omega manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kiger drops Omega with a left right combo! Kiger follows him down to the ground into side control.

It looks like Kenny Omega has been cut.

Omega could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kiger wants to pass the guard but Omega is defending well.

Kiger is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Omega has managed to free his arm - good work.

Kiger avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kiger drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kiger jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Omega has his foot on Kiger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kiger works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Omega cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Omega throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kiger was covering up waiting for the punch and Omega finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Omega is looking to work some ground and pound but Kiger has wrist control.

Kiger had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Omega defends it easily.

Omega got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kiger has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Omega has managed to get both his arms back between Kiger's legs - danger averted.

Omega lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Omega lands a nice short elbow.

Kiger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Omega's guard.
Omega wants to get back to his feet but Kiger is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kiger drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Omega dives on top into guard.
