Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pavel Larichkin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jose Martinez!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larichkin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Martinez is fending him off so far but Larichkin persists. Nope, Martinez circles away and we're back to standing.
Larichkin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Martinez shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Larichkin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Martinez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Martinez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Let's hope that Martinez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Larichkin will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martinez wants to control for a moment but Larichkin uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Well Martinez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
