The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wongraven fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. LeSac sprawls well initially but Wongraven persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Wongraven stalling. LeSac avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wongraven. Wongraven wants to pass the guard but LeSac is defending well. Wongraven with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. LeSac tries to roll over but Wongraven keeps him under control. LeSac is refusing to be controlled, as Wongraven sits in half guard. Wongraven controlling the action here. Wongraven seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down LeSac for as long as he can get away with. LeSac won't allow Wongraven to pass to mount.

Wongraven wants to stand but LeSac is controlling the position. LeSac wants to control from the top but Wongraven keeps moving. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. LeSac shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Wongraven moves into full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Sigurd Wongraven will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
