The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix takes a swing at Carter's ribcage but misses.
Carter doesn't manage to clinch there - Phoenix circles away.
Carter throws a head kick but Phoenix moves out of range.
Carter moves in looking to clinch but Phoenix pushes him off.
Phoenix throws out a powerful jab.
Phoenix tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Carter was well out of range. Poor timing from Phoenix.
Carter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Phoenix.
A nice combination there by Phoenix.

It looks like Shawn Carter has been cut.
The fight stays on the outside here - Carter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A right-left combo lands from Phoenix.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Phoenix cracks Carter with an open hand slap.
Carter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Carter pushes Phoenix back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Carter is looking to clinch but Phoenix is avoiding it.

and Phoenix makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Phoenix cracks Carter with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Carter falls to his knees and Phoenix doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
