Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derick Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malli Nukke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murphy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dance Hall Days. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derick Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Malli Nukke!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murphy tries to clinch up but Nukke circles away and keeps his distance.
Nukke tries to bum rush Murphy with a series of wild strikes but Murphy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nukke throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Murphy's waist but Murphy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nukke off to one side.
Nukke misses with a takedown attempt - Murphy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Nukke shoots in but no luck this time.
Derick Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Malli Nukke.
Murphy throws a nice outside leg kick.
Murphy tries to clinch there but Nukke circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nukke shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Nukke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Murphy keeps working.
Murphy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nukke on the ground.
Murphy is trying to maintain the position but Nukke is very close to passing his half guard.
Nukke wants to take a breather but Murphy is having none of it.
Nukke looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Murphy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Murphy is in trouble now - Nukke has advanced to mount!
Nukke controlling the position easily from mount.
Nukke lands a big shot there that rocks Murphy but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nukke wants to control the pace but Murphy is squirming around nicely.
Nukke breaks from Murphy's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Murphy tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nukke lands a nice shot to the head.
Murphy manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Murphy wants to get back to full guard.
Nukke is looking for a kimura here.
Murphy is not content to let Nukke control the position.

Nukke stalling away here and it's allowed Murphy to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Murphy moves in looking to clinch but Nukke pushes him off.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nukke shoots in looking for a takedown. Murphy tries to sprawl out of it but Nukke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Murphy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nukke throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Murphy's waist but Murphy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nukke off to one side.
Murphy wants to clinch.
Nukke looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nukke tries to score a power double leg takedown but Murphy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nukke somewhat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Malli Nukke dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Some bone on bone action there as Nukke checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Murphy misses with a wild combination.
Murphy wants to clinch.
Nukke takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

and Murphy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Murphy throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

and Murphy counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Murphy is trying to maintain a safe position but Nukke gets an underhook and turns Murphy into the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Murphy just misses with a elbow thrown towards Nukke's brow.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Murphy obliges.

Malli Nukke's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Murphy with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Malli Nukke's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
