The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Suzuki avoids it really well and circles away.
Suzuki lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Silva at a distance.
Silva shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Silva stops Suzuki from getting back to his feet.
Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Suzuki sees it coming and defends easily.
Suzuki is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!
Suzuki controlling well, preventing Silva from escaping the position.
Silva is working hard here to advance position.
Suzuki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

I really don't envy Silva right now.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Silva turns into Suzuki and is now in his guard.
Silva wants to control from the top but Suzuki keeps moving.
Suzuki wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nice takedown defense from Suzuki. No joy for Silva on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Suzuki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Suzuki thuds his right hand into Silva's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Suzuki lands with a shot to the body.

Suzuki wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Suzuki stalks Silva and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Silva's face. Silva staggers backwards, shaken.
Suzuki connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Suzuki scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Toshi Suzuki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silva takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Silva needs to keep his hands up - Suzuki had a free shot at his head there.
Silva is rocked!
Suzuki steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Silva is out on his feet! Suzuki sets himself and nearly takes Silva's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
