Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between WB Crisse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Borracha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, WB Crisse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paulo Borracha!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borracha looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Crisse is fending him off so far but Borracha persists. Nope, Crisse circles away and we're back to standing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Borracha is defended easily by Crisse.
Borracha tries to clinch but Crisse is having none of it.
Crisse tries to clinch but Borracha moves out of range.

Borracha clinches up against the cage.
Borracha lands with a right to the head.
Borracha is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Borracha is trying to force a seperation but Crisse has the dominant position.

Crisse gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Crisse's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Crisse has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Crisse advances position into side control!

Crisse decides to stand back up.

Crisse throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Crisse looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Borracha!
Crisse throws some wild stikes that Borracha manages to avoid easily.
Crisse throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Borracha tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Crisse sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Crisse content just to control the position here.
Borracha is trying desperately to improve position.
Crisse wants to take Borracha's back here but Borracha is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Crisse controlling from the full mount.
Borracha really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Borracha wants to control but Crisse is having none of it.
Crisse controlling the pace for now.

Borracha wants to hold on but Crisse pushes him away.
Crisse sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Crisse wants to take his opponent's back but Borracha doesn't allow it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Crisse looking to control and managing it successfully.
Crisse seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Borracha for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. WB Crisse just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Crisse wants to control but Borracha is having none of it.
Borracha prevents Crisse from getting the reversal.
Crisse is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Crisse looks for the body kick but Borracha saw that one coming.
Borracha is looking to clinch.

Borracha gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Crisse is trying to trip Borracha. He has hold of a leg but Borracha is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Crisse persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Borracha is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Crisse stays in close to Borracha's body and controls the position.

Crisse decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crisse throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Borracha works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Borracha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crisse. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Crisse throws a big right hand that misses.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Crisse accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Borracha can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Crisse controls the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Borracha wants to clinch.

Crisse shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Borracha tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Crisse throwing strikes but missing.

Crisse slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Crisse's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Borracha is trying to keep Crisse in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crisse seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Crisse wants to pass the guard but Borracha is keeping the position.

Borracha is pulling down on Crisse's head to control his posture.
Crisse loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Borracha is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Borracha wants to stand and escape but Crisse is having none of it.
Crisse seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Crisse wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Borracha, who protects the arm well.
Borracha tries to bench press Crisse off him but Crisse keeps the position.
Borracha isn't going anywhere.
Borracha dodges the ground and pound from Crisse.
Crisse is staying tight to Borracha's torso, preventing him from escaping.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

WB Crisse dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Borracha with a poor takedown

and Crisse counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Borracha's guard now.

Crisse stands and steps away. Borracha gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Crisse blocks a jab.

Crisse bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Crisse stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Crisse is looking to land body kicks.
Crisse tries to clinch up but Borracha circles away and keeps his distance.
Borracha shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Crisse defends it nicely.
WB Crisse is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Crisse shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Borracha manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Crisse drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Crisse jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Borracha is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Borracha is pulling down on Crisse's head to control his posture.
Crisse slips nicely into half guard.

Crisse is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Borracha is looking to improve his position.

Crisse looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Crisse decides to return to a standing position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Borracha tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Crisse paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Crisse avoids the body shot from Borracha.

Crisse closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Borracha to the mat! Borracha manages to get full guard.
Crisse wants to pass the guard but Borracha is keeping the position.
Crisse trying to control the position from guard on top but Borracha is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Borracha is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Crisse stands up from Borracha's guard - Crisse perhaps looking for a knockout.

Crisse shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Borracha is trying to maintain the position but Crisse is very close to passing his half guard.
Crisse frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Crisse tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Crisse misses with a head shot.
Paulo Borracha has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
WB Crisse is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Crisse controlling his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight!
WB Crisse showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Crisse, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
