Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez takes the fight into the clinch.
Jordan with a knee to the head.
Mendez avoids the elbow strike from Jordan, against the cage.
Mendez is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jordan can't fight it off and eventually Mendez manages to take the fight to the floor. Jordan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mendez wants to work for an arm triangle but Jordan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Mendez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jordan throws his legs up looking for a submission but Mendez uses it to pass to side control.
Jordan is trying to buck Mendez off.
Mendez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jordan keeps working.

Mendez has hold of Jordan's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Jordan tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Mendez cranks the arm and Jordan screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Jordan, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
