Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Shifflett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Vandam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shifflett comes to the cage accompanied by System Of A Down - Toxicity. Ray Shifflett has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Vandam!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shifflett fails with a takedown attempt.
Vandam misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
No luck for Shifflett with that takedown attempt.
Vandam misses with a body kick.
Shifflett moves away from the strike by Vandam.
Shifflett looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Shifflett trying to control from half guard but Vandam is working away.
Vandam keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Shifflett thows a huge punch but Vandam dodges it nicely.
Shifflett throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Vandam really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shifflett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vandam is staying active underneath Shifflett, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vandam can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Vandam avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Shifflett.
Shifflett landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Shifflett slips a nice elbow through Vandam's hands, connecting with Vandam's forehead.
Shifflett lands with a punch from half guard.
Vandam tries to kick Shifflett off but Shifflett keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Shifflett not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Shifflett winds up and cracks Vandam with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Vandam looks like he's trying to stand up.
Nice strikes from Shifflett there.
Shifflett thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Shifflett misses with a head shot. Vandam uses the momentum to regain guard.
Shifflett is working Vandam over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Shifflett makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vandam wants to get back to his feet but Shifflett is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Shifflett tries to work over Vandam's front leg with a kick but Vandam checks it.
Vandam throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Vandam lands a high kick!
Shifflett has Vandam up against the cage in a clinch.
Vandam gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Shifflett.
Vandam lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Shifflett backwards.
Shifflett tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vandam just stands there and leans against the cage.
Shifflett drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Vandam gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Shifflett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vandam escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vandam throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Shifflett's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vandam lands with a kick to the temple. Shifflett shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Vandam keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Shifflett misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ray Shifflett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Vandam throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Shifflett looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vandam is fending him off so far but Shifflett persists. Nope, Vandam circles away and we're back to standing.
Vandam will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vandam misses with a series of wild punches.
Vandam wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Vandam scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Vandam throws a head kick that half lands.
Shifflett takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Vandam lands with a kick to the temple. Shifflett shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Shifflett is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shifflett loses concentration momentarily and Vandam pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Shifflett crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Vandam finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Tyler Vandam!
