Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hero Kawasaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jing Woo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jing Woo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hero Kawasaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jing Woo!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawasaki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kawasaki looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Woo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Woo wants to stand up but Kawasaki is controlling the position.
Kawasaki has hold of Woo's hands but Woo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Woo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Woo seems to be working for a kimura but Kawasaki defends the submission attempt.

Kawasaki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Woo pulls his head out easily.
Woo slips a nice elbow through Kawasaki's hands, connecting with Kawasaki's forehead.
Woo landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Kawasaki is staying active underneath Woo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kawasaki wants to get back to his feet.

Woo is working for a kimura but Kawasaki is defending it quite comfortably.

Woo decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Woo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kawasaki looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Woo is trying to get an arm triangle but Kawasaki is defending well.

Woo connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kawasaki some visible discomfort.
You can see the frustration on Kawasaki's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Kawasaki is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Woo is controlling him well.
Kawasaki wants to control but Woo postures up.
Kawasaki wants to get back to his feet but Woo drags him back down.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Woo fails with the takedown.

Woo scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kawasaki is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Woo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kawasaki tries to escape but Woo is in control.

Kawasaki fails with the takedown

and Woo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kawasaki's guard now.
Kawasaki is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kawasaki wants to stand but Woo is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jing Woo dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Woo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kawasaki's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kawasaki wants to get back to his feet.
Woo tries to pass to full mount but Kawasaki defends it.
Kawasaki tries to kick Woo off but Woo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Woo is trying to control the action in half guard but Kawasaki is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kawasaki wants to control but Woo is keeping busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kawasaki looks to clinch

and Woo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kawasaki keeping moving, preventing Woo from controlling successfully.

Kawasaki looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Woo has picked Kawasaki up and slammed him! Kawasaki can't keep hold of the triangle and Woo manages to pass to side control!

Woo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Woo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Woo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kawasaki has escaped the position, nice work there.
Kawasaki wants to control but Woo postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kawasaki prevents Woo from moving into mount.

Woo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kawasaki has escaped the position, nice work there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kawasaki gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Woo tries to score a body lock takedown but Kawasaki shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Kawasaki tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Woo jumps guard but Kawasaki stands there with Woo around his waist. Woo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Woo pulls guard successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Woo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Kawasaki stands up and waves to Woo to follow him.

Woo tries to keep at a distance but Kawasaki has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kawasaki is looking to break free of the clinch but Woo has double underhooks.
Kawasaki tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jing Woo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Woo scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Woo prevents Kawasaki from standing back up.
Woo wants to get back to his feet.
Kawasaki tries to kick Woo off in order to stand up. Woo Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Woo tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Woo landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kawasaki sneaks out the side door and pushes Woo away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Woo has managed to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kawasaki gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Woo.

Kawasaki jumps guard and drags Woo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kawasaki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kawasaki working a defensive guard but Woo passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Woo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Kawasaki!
Kawasaki is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kawasaki wants to try and get back to his feet.

Woo working for a submission but Kawasaki is keeping him at bay.
Kawasaki sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Kawasaki trying to control but Woo postures up.

Woo seems to be looking for submissions.

Kawasaki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Woo pulls his head out easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Woo prevents Kawasaki from standing back up.

Kawasaki has one foot on Woo's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Kawasaki throws a series of punches but Woo avoids them all with ease.
Woo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kawasaki swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Woo closes the distance and clinches.

Kawasaki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Woo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kawasaki is looking for a triangle but Woo pushes his legs off easily.
Kawasaki is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Woo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Kawasaki looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hero Kawasaki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Woo stands up and waves to Kawasaki to follow him.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jing Woo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Woo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
