7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Ly! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slow jab from Ly misses its intended target. Wittman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ly as he avoids it easily. Ly cracks Wittman with an uppercut from hell and Wittman crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Ly's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
It looks like Marcus Wittman has been cut. Wittman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ly defends well. Ly drops back looking for a leg! Wittman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wittman manages to kick Ly off! Ly jumps back into Wittman's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ly wants to pass the guard but Wittman is keeping the position. Wittman is looking for a triangle but Ly pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wittman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ly is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wittman. Wittman tries to improve position but can't. Ly is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wittman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wittman struggling a bit here. Wittman is not content to let Ly control the position.
