Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Justin Coon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus OConnor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Justin Coon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Coon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus OConnor!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coon throws a hook but OConnor blocks it.
Coon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Coon closes the distance and pushes OConnor back into the cage.
Coon is trying to break free.
Coon has OConnor pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. OConnor manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
OConnor tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Coon just stands there and leans against the cage.

OConnor pulls guard effortlessly.
Coon throws a big right hand that misses.
OConnor working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Coon.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OConnor is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

OConnor keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Coon's efforts to push away.
OConnor drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

OConnor tries to land a knee to the head but Coon blocks with his arms.

Coon lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Coon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

OConnor tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Coon lands a few punches from side control.
Coon fails to land a wild elbow strike.
OConnor wants to control but Coon postures up.
OConnor is trying to improve his position.
OConnor is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
OConnor is looking to reverse the position.

You can see the frustration on OConnor's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
OConnor is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Coon off and has taken his back!
OConnor keeps control of the position as Coon tries to break free.
Coon is breathing heavily.

OConnor is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Coon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Coon's back!
OConnor is trying to stick to Coon's back but Coon is turning into OConnor. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in OConnor's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Coon.

OConnor tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
OConnor avoids a punch combination nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Coon is defended easily by OConnor.

OConnor decides to stand back up. OConnor steps back and let's Coon get back to his feet.
Coon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Coon wants it to stay on the feet.

OConnor shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Coon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Coon throws a nice looking combination but OConnor bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
OConnor is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
OConnor closes the distance and clinches up with Coon, looking for a takedown. OConnor pushes Coon against the cage but Coon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

OConnor wants to stand up but Coon has a hold of him and won't allow it.

OConnor looking to sit in guard and control but Coon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Coon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but OConnor swivels and escapes.

OConnor gets a clinch.
Coon tries to stall but OConnor uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
OConnor has Coon pressed against the cage, preventing Coon from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus OConnor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



OConnor closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Coon won't allow OConnor to pass to mount.
Coon holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Coon is refusing to be controlled, as OConnor sits in half guard.
Coon pushes OConnor off looking to stand but OConnor dives back in and keeps control.
OConnor is looking to take a break and control but Coon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nice strikes from OConnor there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
OConnor wants to clinch up but Coon keeps it at a distance.

Coon wants to stand but OConnor has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
OConnor moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

OConnor looking for a guillotine here but Coon defends easily.

OConnor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Coon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Coon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
OConnor manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

OConnor is working for a kimura but Coon is defending it quite comfortably.
Coon slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Marcus OConnor has got the better of the ground game so far.
OConnor is working Coon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

I would just about give that final round to Marcus OConnor.
I think OConnor has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
