Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jumalaton Hirmu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brandon Wallabees!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hirmu throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wallabees.
Hirmu misses with a straight left.
Hirmu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wallabees slips a jab and a cross from Hirmu.
Wallabees throws a series of punches but Hirmu moves out of range.
Hirmu is looking to score with low kicks.
Wallabees doesn't manage to clinch there - Hirmu circles away.
Hirmu throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Wallabees looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Wallabees is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Hirmu is refusing to be controlled, as Wallabees sits in half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hirmu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wallabees on the ground.
Wallabees wants to free his trapped foot but Hirmu is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

I looks like Wallabees might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Hirmu wants to try and get back to his feet.

Wallabees has control of Hirmu's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hirmu regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Wallabees's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Despite being in the dominant position, Brandon Wallabees just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hirmu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wallabees closes the distance and clinches up with Hirmu, looking for a takedown. Wallabees pushes Hirmu against the ropes but Hirmu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hirmu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wallabees looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hirmu keeps the fight on the outside.
Hirmu looks to land a combination but Wallabees avoids it well.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Wallabees.
Hirmu wants to get back to his feet but Wallabees drags him back down.
Hirmu is breathing heavily.
Wallabees is staying tight to Hirmu's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Wallabees decides to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Wallabees shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wallabees showed some decent athleticism there.
Wallabees content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Wallabees wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hirmu keeps working.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Wallabees. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Wallabees is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Hirmu has managed to free his arm - good work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Wallabees is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hirmu is looking to escape.
Wallabees is looking to take a break and control but Hirmu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hirmu throws a right hand that Wallabees ducks under and follows up with a left that Wallabees also avoids with ease.

Hirmu throws a series of punches but Wallabees avoids them all with ease.
Wallabees tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wallabees wants to clinch up but Hirmu keeps it at a distance.
Horrible takedown by Wallabees or perhaps it was just good defense by Hirmu which made him look bad.
Hirmu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wallabees throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hirmu throws a sloppy head kick and Wallabees moves out of range easily.
Wallabees fails with a takedown attempt.
Hirmu pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Wallabees tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wallabees misses with a double jab
letting Hirmu counter with a right hand.
Hirmu throws a head kick that misses.
Wallabees tries to clinch but Hirmu moves away
and Hirmu counters with a solid body kick.
Hirmu throws a head kick that misses.

and Hirmu counters with a big head kick but Wallabees shrugs it off.
Wallabees tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Hirmu paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hirmu misses with a head kick.
Brandon Wallabees seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wallabees slips a jab and a cross from Hirmu.
Hirmu drops Wallabees with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Wallabees! Hirmu dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
