Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marco Scarpelli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edoardo Bertolone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scarpelli's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Use your fist and not your mouth. Bertolone has chosen The Fight song - Marylin Manson as his entrance music. Edoardo Bertolone has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Marco Scarpelli's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marco Scarpelli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Edoardo Bertolone!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bertolone keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Scarpelli shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bertolone manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Scarpelli wants to control from the top but Bertolone keeps moving.
Scarpelli is really struggling to control Bertolone but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Scarpelli postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bertolone is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Scarpelli, into his guard.

Bertolone wants to stand but Scarpelli has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Scarpelli is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bertolone wants to get back to his feet.
Bertolone is staying active underneath Scarpelli, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Bertolone tries to clinch there but Scarpelli circles away.
Bertolone throws a nice head kick!
Bertolone stuffs the takedown attempt from Scarpelli. Scarpelli gets slowly back to his feet.
Bertolone lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bertolone.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Scarpelli wants to control the pace but Bertolone is squirming around nicely.

Bertolone is in a horrible position here. Scarpelli smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Scarpelli wants to control the pace but Bertolone is squirming around nicely.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Bertolone lands a head kick. Scarpelli smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Scarpelli takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Bertolone tries to escape but Scarpelli is in control.
Scarpelli wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bertolone keeps working.

Bertolone wants to get back to his feet.
Scarpelli will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Scarpelli is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bertolone is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Scarpelli tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Scarpelli has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bertolone wants to get back to his feet but Scarpelli drags him back down.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bertolone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Scarpelli takes a head kick and keeps coming.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marco Scarpelli.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Scarpelli, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
