Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rubens Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ken Maxwell! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rubens Nelson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maxwell ducks under a wild hook from Nelson. Nelson throws a right and a left that Maxwell avoids nicely. Nelson slips a jab and a cross from Maxwell.
Maxwell paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Maxwell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Maxwell scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Nelson thows a body shot but no joy. Maxwell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Maxwell throws a right hand that Nelson ducks under and follows up with a left that Nelson also avoids with ease. Nelson dodges the punch combination from Maxwell.
Maxwell scores with a crisp jab that stopped Nelson in his tracks. Nelson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nelson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Maxwell sprawls well initially but Nelson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Nelson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Maxwell is looking for a sweep. Nelson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Maxwell regains full guard. Nicely done. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson wanted to stand there but Maxwell had control of the position. Nelson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Nelson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maxwell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nelson has managed to get both his arms back between Maxwell's legs - danger averted. Maxwell has his foot on Nelson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nelson works his way back into a safe position though. Nelson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Maxwell looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Nelson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Let's hope that Nelson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Despite being in the dominant position, Rubens Nelson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nelson tries to clinch but Maxwell moves out of range. Nelson misses with a few strikes there.
Maxwell scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Nelson doesn't seem bothered though. Nelson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Maxwell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maxwell cracks Nelson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Nelson looks gassed! Maxwell fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Maxwell throws a series of strikes that have Nelson backpedaling.
Nelson tries to clinch up. A shot to the body from Nelson misses and Maxwell counters with a series of strikes that sends Nelson to the canvas! Maxwell follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!
Nelson is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Maxwell is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nelson is still in real trouble! Can Maxwell finish him? Maxwell gets to his feet. Nelson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Nelson seems to have recovered his senses. Nelson ducks right into an uppercut from Maxwell. A punch lands to the side of Nelson 's head but he takes it in his stride. Nelson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Maxwell is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Maxwell throws a monster overhand right that drops Nelson! Maxwell follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ken Maxwell! Ken Maxwell retains his welterweight title!
