Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Phillepe Gagne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fraklin Smith!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Gagne.
Gagne misses with a body shot.
Gagne misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Gagne throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gagne throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith.
Gagne stuffs the takedown.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gagne as he avoids it easily.
Smith fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Phillepe Gagne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fraklin Smith.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gagne just misses with a punch to the body.
Smith shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gagne manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Smith wants to pass the guard but Gagne is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith lands a couple of digs.
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Gagne is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smith sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gagne's guard.
Gagne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Smith not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Gagne tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg.
Smith content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Smith is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gagne defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Smith in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Gagne tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Smith!
