PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henrick Sizewell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Burton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Sizewell might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cult of Personality. TJ Burton has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sizewell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Decent striking displayed by Sizewell there.
Sizewell just misses with a punch to the body.

Sizewell fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Burton sprawls well initially but Sizewell persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
It looks like Sizewell is going to stand back up.

Burton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sizewell is working away from the top position though.

Burton is controlling Sizewell's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Burton has hold of Sizewell's hands but Sizewell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Burton wants to control but Sizewell is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Burton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sizewell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Sizewell wants to stand and escape but instead Burton has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Sizewell has his foot on Burton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burton works his way back into a safe position though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Burton tries to clinch but Sizewell is having none of it.

Sizewell has had enough of the clinch but Burton keeps him there for the moment.

Burton gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burton.
Burton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sizewell.
Burton walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Sizewell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sizewell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Burton takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Sizewell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Burton defending against the ground and pound.

Sizewell stands up and beckons Burton to his feet.
Sizewell does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Burton moves out of range of the strikes.
Sizewell tries to clinch there but Burton circles away.

Burton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Henrick Sizewell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TJ Burton.

Sizewell tries to keep at a distance but Burton has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sizewell throws a half hearted mid kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sizewell lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Sizewell counters with a shoot takedown. Burton fights it but they end up in guard.
Burton manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sizewell slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

No joy there for Sizewell, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sizewell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Burton backs up against the ropes.

Sizewell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sizewell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Burton takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sizewell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burton manages to avoid it.

and Sizewell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Burton is trying desperately to land a takedown but Sizewell is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Burton.

Sizewell throws a right and a left that Burton avoids nicely.

and Sizewell decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Burton's guard.

Sizewell lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Burton! Sizewell sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Burton and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
