Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Enzo Cordero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karl Donitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Enzo Cordero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Karl Donitz!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donitz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cordero circles away.
Cordero looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Donitz drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cordero is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cordero looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Donitz throwing strikes but missing.

Cordero is looking for a triangle here but Donitz uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Donitz tries to move to full mount but Cordero actually manages to regain half guard.

Donitz seems to be working for a kimura but Cordero defends the submission attempt.

Donitz stands up out of the half guard.
Donitz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cordero's waist but Cordero gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Donitz off to one side.
Donitz shoots in for a takedown but Cordero shows good takedown defense.
Enzo Cordero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Donitz.
Donitz closes the distance and clinches up with Cordero, looking for a takedown. Donitz pushes Cordero against the cage but Cordero circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cordero lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Donitz fails to land the takedown.
Cordero fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Karl Donitz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cordero manages to work his way to half guard, despite Donitz's best efforts.
Cordero is trying to get back to full guard.
Cordero is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Donitz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Donitz's back!

Cordero doesn't have the hooks in and Donitz manages to turn into his guard.

Cordero is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cordero can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Donitz controls the pace.
Donitz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Donitz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cordero is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Donitz off and has taken his back!
Donitz just trying to survive but Cordero is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

That was a close round but I would say that Enzo Cordero will probably get the nod.
That's time! Cordero's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Donitz shoots in and bounces Cordero off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cordero is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Donitz pulls his head out easily.

Donitz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cordero doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Donitz.
Donitz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Donitz slips a nice elbow through Cordero's hands, connecting with Cordero's forehead.

Donitz stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Donitz shoots for a double leg takedown but Cordero sprawls well. He's pushed Donitz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Donitz.
Enzo Cordero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karl Donitz.
Cordero keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Donitz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cordero is trying to defend but Donitz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Donitz is looking to take a break and control but Cordero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are battling for position here. Cordero manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Donitz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
A slow jab from Cordero misses its intended target.
Donitz shoots in for a takedown but Cordero shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cordero stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Donitz shoots in looking for a takedown. Cordero tries to sprawl out of it but Donitz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cordero manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karl Donitz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Donitz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cordero looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cordero sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Cordero wants to get back to full guard.

Donitz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cordero working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Donitz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Donitz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cordero is looking for a triangle but Donitz pushes his legs off easily.

Donitz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Donitz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Donitz scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Cordero has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Donitz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cordero is defending against the submission attempts here by Donitz.

Donitz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cordero is just riding it out for now. Donitz eventually gives up the hold.

Cordero is refusing to be controlled, as Donitz sits in half guard.
Donitz working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Cordero is looking for a sweep. Donitz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Donitz in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Cordero tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Donitz!
