Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nardo Putik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Santana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nardo Putik! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Santana or perhaps it was just good defense by Putik which made him look bad. Santana takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Santana instigates a clinch. Santana is looking to break free of the clinch but Putik has double underhooks. Santana escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Putik fails in his attempt to clinch. Putik shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Santana manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Putik stands and steps away. Santana gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Santana tries to clinch up but Putik circles away and keeps his distance. Santana wants to clinch and Putik counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Putik. Putik keeps control of Santana as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Santana tries to pull guard but Putik holds him up against the cage and eventually Santana drops back down to his feet.

Putik avoids a wild elbow strike from Santana. Putik decides to pull guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santana preventing the sweep. Santana is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Putik is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Santana drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Santana jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Putik working for a triangle but Santana defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Santana with a nice head shot there. Putik trying to keep a closed guard but Santana is proving a slippery customer.

Santana controls from within his opponent's guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Santana cracks Putik with a solid left hand.

Putik thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Santana trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Putik works Santana's body with a nice hook. Santana on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Putik. Putik obviously looking to wear him down.
Santana tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Santana clinches. Putik wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Santana's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Putik forces Santana back against the cage and clinches. Putik is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Santana is keeping busy. Santana prevents the takedown attempt.

Nardo Putik dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Putik changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Santana looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Santana is looking to reverse the position. Santana wants to control but Putik postures up. Putik wants to control but Santana is keeping him busy. Santana is trying to control Putik's posture but Putik avoids it. Santana is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Santana tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Santana is trying to stand.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Santana uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Putik. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santana tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Putik scores with a three punch combo!
Santana closes the distance but Putik moves to the side and Putik counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Santana's guard now. Santana bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Putik's guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Santana accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Santana wants to control from the top but Putik keeps moving. That's two minutes gone in the round. Santana passes Putik's left leg - he's now in half guard. Santana is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Putik is looking to control Santana's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Putik avoid being mounted? Putik gets back to full guard.
Santana stands and steps away. Putik gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santana tries to close the distance and clinch up but Putik swats him away and circles back towards the center. Putik keeps the fight on the outside. Putik shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Santana as he avoids it easily. Santana tries to clinch up and Putik counters with a series of strikes. Santana will be more careful next time no doubt. A good leg kick by Santana. Santana tries to clinch and Putik moves into the clinch. Santana pulls Putik into guard.
Putik sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Santana's guard. Santana has one foot on Putik's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Santana tries a head kick but it misses.

Nardo Putik showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Santana shoots in and drives through. Putik sprawls well. Santana takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Putik shoots for a double leg takedown but Santana sprawls well. He's pushed Putik's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Santana closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Putik can't get the takedown.
Santana is trying to maintain a safe position but Putik gets an underhook and turns Santana into the cage. Santana breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Santana tries to clinch up and Putik counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Santana pushes Putik up against the cage in a clinch. Lucas Santana has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Putik shoots in looking for a takedown. Santana tries to sprawl out of it but Putik keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Santana manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Putik circles away from the clinch attempt and Putik counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Putik. Nardo Putik has got the better of the ground game so far. Santana keeping moving, preventing Putik from controlling successfully. Putik stopping the sweep attempt from Santana.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Putik trying to control the position from guard on top but Santana is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Santana lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Putik! Santana is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Putik has managed to escape the submission attempt.

And that's the end of the fight! Nardo Putik comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Putik winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
